In 1887, the idea of the slot machine was invented by a workman named Charles Fey. After several years of successful cooperation Miles Company decided to develop a slot machine with fruit symbols. It was Operator Bell. The first slot machines were created of cast iron, a heavy material which was hard to lug from casino to casino. Mills Company had to solve that problem, so in 1915 they created the wood cabinet slot machine. This lighter material made it easier for them to deliver slot machines to various institutions. The engineers of the Mills Company introduced a huge amount of inventions to make the machines which are manufactured by their corporations more attractive for players. In the 1930's, it worked on various appearances for various machines, all coming with their unique mini-themes. These eye-catching, more colorful machines became a luxury for players. In the 1930's, there was a slot machine explosion through all the United States. Slot machines in gambling institutions comprised an original concept and goal of keeping women entertained while professional gamblers hit the tables.
